Nordic Baltic Songwriters Summit

The Nordic/Baltic Songwriters Summit, taking place April 30th to May 4th in Tartu, Estonia, is open for registration. The format of the summit is based in co-writing between participants, and moderated by Annika Fehling (Sweden) and Brett Perkins (Denmark). Co- writing allows artists an opportunity to expand beyond their familiar approach to writing and develop a wider perspective on their process.

The event aims to raise songwriting skills among new and established songwriters, with a special focus on songwriting in Nordic and Baltic languages. The three-day summit is connected to the Tartu Songwriters Festival Mailaul. There are several pop-up concerts during the festival week, plus the retreats presentation concert at the opening night of the festival.

The Nordic/Baltic Songwriters Summit was founded in 2015 in cooperation with the Tartu Songwriters Festivali Mailaul, Visbyfestivalen and Copenhagen Songwriters Festival. The project is supported by the Nordic Culture Fund. Two additional songwriting retreats connected to the project will take place in Visby (August 15th to 17th) and Copenhagen (August 27th to 30th) – both occurring immediately before songwriters festivals in those same cities.
